Go Big: The third FAU Open Research Challenge begins...
We are proud to announce that, for the third time, Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) is asking interested international researchers or research teams to participate in the “FAU Open Research Challenge”.
"FAU Open Research Challenge" presents an attractive competitive format aimed at young international researchers. The digital competition addresses internationally significant questions in Big Data and artificial intelligence, some of the key strands of German research. The concept is solution-oriented and strongly research-motivated, and designed to encourage qualified early career researchers to engage in international cooperation with researchers at FAU.
The 2020 edition will focus mainly on finding solutions to the fundamental challenges Big Data poses. We invite advanced master students, doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers to embark on an exciting journey to discover intelligent AI and Big Data solutions. Our Annotator Challenge addresses the potential to transfer deep learning techniques to the art domain. The goal of the Palaeontology challenge is to develop a framework to clean the data in the largest database of fossils spanning the entire Phanerozoic age.
